The Adolescence of a Lunatic

They say youth is a state of mind. But modern psychology says that the state of the mind is heavily dictated by our body, our brain, and all those glorious chemicals they produce. So if we keep the doses high and steady, will this dream called "Adolescence" last forever — or will we go mad sliding down the rabbit hole?

In this visual novel, I worked with the artist Sihan Zhao to craft an interactive reading experience that stares down the nihilism hurdle and searches for a way over it.

My roles: in short, everything except the visual art. I designed the storyline, conceptualized the character designs, wrote the prose, and programmed the playable software.

The project is on hold for now — I'm heads-down on Endless Summer Syndrome (which you should absolutely check out) — but I am certain I'll return to it. For now, feel free to play the Chapter 1 demo from the link below.
