Once Upon a Spring
Mental illness is not a choice, but we can always decide how we coexist with it. After a life infested with setbacks and downturns, Chunling finds herself at a crossroads — to take, or not to take, her own life.
In this puzzle game, the player delves deep into the turbulent mental space of an elderly woman: to relive her troubled life, to uncover her many secrets, and ultimately, to decide her very fate.
My roles: I was brought on when the project needed a new direction. I synthesized the origin story with the genres that interested the founding members and essentially re-crafted the entire plan for design and development. I've been driving the project forward ever since — and became its software developer along the way.
